About Us
A Village Built From Love
Bear Hug the Spectrum Foundation started with one mother’s journey, and grew into a community of parents, educators, and advocates who believe no family should have to navigate the spectrum alone.
Our story
How It All Began
Bear Hug was created from my personal journey as a parent navigating life with a child on the autism spectrum. I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel, trying to understand what services are available, figuring out what your child needs, and not always knowing where to turn. There are so many resources out there, but finding the right ones, at the right time, can be difficult and sometimes exhausting.
Bear Hug was created to make that journey a little easier for other families. Our goal is to connect families to verified services, provide guidance along the way, and help them feel supported as they navigate therapy, school systems, and everyday challenges. We want families to have access to the information and resources they need without feeling lost or alone in the process.
As the organization grows, we plan to provide financial assistance to help ease the burden of costly services, because access to care should never be limited by finances. This work is deeply personal to me. It’s built on love, understanding, and the desire to create something meaningful for families who are walking a similar path.
